Austin Wright, PGA

Founder and Program Leader

Starting golf at 4 years old, my passion for the game has always been strong. My love for the game continued in High School, where I was the first middle school golfer from the 16th region to compete for a regional title. After all-area and all-state honorable mentions in both sports, I continued my athletic pursuit in college, where I would play golf and baseball. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a short stint in the corporate world, I started my golf career at Hickory Stick Golf Club in Greenwood, Indiana. After 2 years in the public sector, I followed the Hickory Stick head pro to Batesville, Indiana, and spent 4 years at Hillcrest Country Club, starting with a nonexistent junior program. After 3 years, we had over 30 participants in our classes. After Hillcrest, I was selected to the team at Meridian Hills Country Club, where I operated the Junior Golf Program of over 1200 juniors and taught over 200 lessons, and continued their caddy program, before starting my time in Columbus at Harrison Lake Country Club, and now, Otter Creek Golf Course and Guided Course. Playing golf has always been a passion for me; however, seeing other young individuals get the training, life lessons, and sense of community from the game of golf, I have found a new lifelong goal of helping others find the love for our great game.
